Overview
The Settings page in Creator is where you configure how your app looks, behaves, and is delivered to your users. To make settings easy to find, the page is organised into tabs, with each tab grouping a related set of options. This article explains what each tab covers and what every section within it controls.
This article is for app creators managing an app in Cogniss Creator.
App configuration
Settings that define how your app is delivered, discovered, navigated, and controlled.
Discoverability: Set whether your app is private, public, or open only to a targeted user group. This applies when your environment is set up as a multi-app environment with a super app.
Platform: Choose your app's delivery format: mobile, web, or both.
App navigation: Customise the navigation menu for your mobile and web apps, including the features and configuration available within each menu item.
Access control: Restrict and manage who can enter your app. This includes voucher access restrictions and voucher redirection. (Voucher redirection works with a super app setup, where users need a specific flow to reach a particular sub-app.)
App deletion: Archive an app you no longer need.
Content feature
Settings that control how users find and interact with your activities and content.
Activities: Configure how users engage with activities, such as favouriting an activity or sharing it with friends. (Sharing with friends is available only when the newsfeed feature is enabled.)
Search: Let users find activities in the Explore menu or a search widget by activity name or tag. You can set a custom search icon, placeholder text, and no-results message.
Text-to-speech: Give users the option to have written content read aloud, improving accessibility and the overall experience.
Data & integration
Settings that connect your app to external data sources.
Health data settings: Allow your app to sync with a user's health data, and choose the connection you're using (for example, Apple HealthKit, with support for Google's health connection planned).
Gamification
Settings that control levels, avatars, virtual goods, and experience points in your app.
Level: Set up your gamification levels and the XP score needed to reach each one. Each level has a name and a minimum XP threshold.
User profile avatar: Let users represent themselves with app icons or avatars. Choose between a basic single-layered avatar or a layered avatar, which connects to virtual goods.
Virtual goods: Configure virtual goods for your app, including whether to enable the shop, and group badges together.
XP: Rename "XP" to a term that better fits your app.
Legal & compliance
Settings that cover your app's legal documents and age-based restrictions.
Terms of service information: The legal terms, conditions, and obligations users must agree to when using your app.
Privacy policy: The guidelines governing how your app collects, uses, stores, and safeguards user data.
Kids mode: Restrict certain functionality for users who fall within the Kids Mode age range. (mobile apps only)
Notifications
Settings that control how your app communicates with users.
Push notifications: Configure your app's notification settings. These apply specifically to mobile push notifications.
Email sender settings: Customise the sender name shown on emails sent from your app.
User profile
Settings that determine the profile information your app collects.
User profile info: Choose what profile information your app collects and manages, such as name, date of birth, and other custom profile fields.
